Sony Ericsson announce the T303 mobile

Sony Ericsson has announced their latest handset release, the T303. We can know a little about this handset from the detail we posted here other day. Although the T Series is not listed we can determine that the 303 is the first model of the series, fairly low end spec, slider format. And that’s exactly how the T303 pans out.

The Sony Ericsson T303 is tiny, measuring in at just 83 x 47 x 14.7 mm and weighing in at 93g. It incorporates a 1.3 megapixel camera, making it the ideal phone for a night out where you will want some fun snaps but nothing serious. In fact, Sony Ericsson are marketing the phone as something you will take with you when you can’t take everything.

The T303 is also enabled with an FM radio, so you can keep up to date with all the latest news and your favourite radio station while on the move. There is also space in the tiny handset for an MP3 Player and the excellent Track ID service. For those that have not used Track ID, it allows you to record a snippet of a song from the radio or similar and send that to the Sony Ericsson database online. Within seconds the song will be tagged and information sent back to the phone, including song title, artist name and album.

Stun guns that look like mobile phones aren't new. But, the latest cellphone turned stun gun to be discovered actually looks like a decent handset upon cursory inspection.

This Sony Ericsson look-alike is a fresh departure from previous stun guns masquerading as ugly monoblock handsets, and the police in Nottingham, England are surprised to have found it. The BBC reports that they found this stun gun disguised as a Sony Ericsson handset in the Hyson Green area. Although it looks like a Sony Ericsson slider, the fact that it doesn't actually work as a cellphone but does deliver 900,000 volts of electricity through two metal prongs should make the user a little cautious.

In fact, the 900,000V shock is 18 more likely to be fatal than the 500,000V shock that police-issue Tasers deliver. "It's a shock that we found it. We are always concerned about finding different types of weapons on the streets. This could potentially kill someone," said a Nottingham police officer.

So, the next time you plan to mug a stranger, make sure they're actually using their mobile phone as a phone. Otherwise you might be shocked to find that their handset is actually a stun gun.
